Step by step
Follow the safe route

Choose the viewpoint first: Page for letters, Receipt for long slips and tickets, Screen for rotas or machine displays, or Photo for wider evidence scenes.

Choose Scan automatically when you want Capshur to wait for a steady, readable frame.

Choose Take a photo when you prefer the phone’s familiar shutter or need more time because of movement or accessibility needs.

Place the complete document on a contrasting, well-lit surface and include every edge.

Check the preview for blur, glare, missing totals, cut-off item lines and small print.

Retake if necessary, then save. The original image is preserved before extraction begins.
Helpful tips
- Rest your elbows on a table or use a stand when hands are unsteady.
- For a long receipt, choose Receipt and move the phone higher rather than cutting off the bottom.
- For a duty or rota screen, choose Screen and rotate the phone when landscape gives clearer text.
- Evidence Photo keeps the wider picture by default so surrounding context is not silently cropped away.
- Manual photo mode is not a lesser option. It enters the same extraction queue.
Important boundaries
- Never crop away information just to make the receipt look neater. The complete original is the evidence.

Do automatic scan, manual photo and upload work differently?
They differ only in how the file enters Capshur. Once accepted, all three preserve the original and follow the same extraction and review pipeline.
Which camera viewpoint should I choose?
Use Page for letters and forms, Receipt for long receipts or tickets, Screen for rota and machine displays, and Photo for incidents, objects or wider scenes. Auto fit is the safe general choice. You can keep the full image or ask Capshur to find document edges after taking the picture.
